What SSL certificates do you use?
By using FTPS it ensures that your traffic is encrypted and safe at all times when transferring data to our services.
We provide encrypted services in 2 ways:
- Explicit FTPS (port 21)
- Implicit FTPS (port 990)
Whenever connecting over FTPS our certificate is presented to you ensuring that you are communicating with the right server, and not a man in the middle.
Our certificate is updated monthly.
The certificate appears like so:
The certificate issuer is Let's Encrypt Authority X3
The Common name should match the server you are connecting to in this case sfs-us-east-1.docevent.io
Where possible you should add the lets encrypt root certificate chain to your application this will ensure updates to our certificate will always be accepted by your client. For more information take a look at Let's Encrypt - Chain of Trust
